At a press event in China, Huawei today revealed the new MatePad Pro tablet to take on Apple iPad Pro and Samsung Galaxy Tab S6. The design of this tablet looks a lot like the Apple iPad Pro, but it looks good with ultra-thin (4.9mm ) bezels. The new MatePad Pro comes with a 10.8-inch AMOLED display with a punch hole 8MP front camera. As expected, it is powered by latest Kirin 990 processor with optional LTE support, 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage. On the back, Huawei has a single 13MP camera for capturing moments.
Even though the MatePad Pro runs on Android 10, due to the US ban, it will not come with Google services pre-installed. So, you can’t install any apps from Play Store. Like the iPad Pro and Surface Pro, the keyboard cover turns this tablet into a portable laptop. Huawei also has M-Pen that will work with this tablet.
The MatePad Pro will be available in White, Black, Green and Orange colors in December. The base version with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage will cost around $470 while the LTE version will cost around $540. The top spec version with LTE, 8GB RAM and 256 GB storage will cost $640.
Note: Huawei is planning to release 5G version of this tablet in 2020
